About Climate South East
Climate South East works to help organizations across sectors to understand the impacts of a changing climate for their operations, services, and communities, and to develop robust responses through partnership working. We have a wide-ranging and diverse network and encourage new stakeholders to get involved. For more information please read about our objectives.
Our geographical area
The South East of England covers the geographical areas of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, East Sussex, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey, and West Sussex.
We bring together diverse public, private and voluntary sector organisations with a shared recognition of the need to adapt to the likely impacts of climate change. We aim to help our members and stakeholders to develop integrated and robust responses. This includes the need to take advantage of any opportunities that arise from changes as well as reducing the threats. We also serve as a link with national organisations and Government, as well as our colleagues in other regions of the UK who are addressing similar issues. In 1999, we published Rising to the Challenge, a study of the possible social, environmental and economic impacts of climate change in the region.
