Our Mission:
Sharing good practice
– Encouraging partners to address climate change and to be champions for their stakeholders and communities by sharing good practice and through education
Solutions-driven
– Providing, advising on and advocating effective climate change solutions relevant to the South East region.
Joint working
– Championing joint working between partners and with others to be more effective in tackling the impacts and reducing the causes of climate change.
Staying Informed
– Communicating and interpreting scientific research and information on developments in climate change policy and guidance, linking them to real-world solutions
Adaptation focused
– Building on our strong track record in this emerging area, the Partnership will continue to play a unique role through our focus on adaptation to the impacts of climate change. In all of our work, we will look for opportunities to improve the region’s resilience to the impacts of climate change and to integrate climate resilience with carbon reduction.

Summary Aims and Objectives
Aim 1: Solutions development and promotion
To secure region-wide understanding of and commitment to tackling the impacts and causes of climate change through developing and championing solutions and exerting influence.
Objectives:
• Carry out a needs assessment to identify how the Partnership’s strategy can contribute to existing work and strategies and address gaps.
• Influence decisions affecting the delivery of climate change solutions in the region.
• Identify champion organisations that are committed to delivering climate change solutions, share good practice and encourage others to aspire to become champions.
• Inspire implementers to make changes to their organisations and practices to prepare for climate change risks and make the most of the opportunities.
• Build strong and active networks to generate and share climate solutions across all sectors. Actively network and share tools and information with other regions in and beyond the UK.
• Present coherent solutions to climate change by ensuring that all solutions proposed take account of the effects of our changing climate and are low carbon
• Act as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for information on climate solutions to deal with the causes and the effects of climate change.
• Work closely with the science and research community in the South East and beyond to encourage the development and sharing of knowledge to address the gaps and needs identified within the Partnership.
Aim 2: Developing the Partnership
To grow the Partnership and establish it as a credible and united force for change across the South East.
Objectives:
• Manage finances effectively.
• Create and monitor a resourcing plan for the Partnership.
• Identify and actively market an exclusive package of membership benefits for existing and new members, and set out the level of commitment expected from members.
• Expand the membership of the Partnership
• Retain members
• Secure external funding to support projects.
• Involve and inspire members.
• Secure Partner approval and commitment to the Partnership.
Operational Aim 2: Positive Communications
To significantly increase the Partnership’s profile through clear and positive messages about climate solutions in the South East and to strengthen internal networking.
Objectives:
• Develop the Climate South East website to provide clear climate change information, solutions and sources of support for partners and other key audiences.
• To make the Climate South East conference the key climate change event in the South East.
• All Partners websites include a link to the Climate South East website by end 2009
• Number of press/ external mentions of Climate South East increases year on year
• Improve the quality of our service to members.
• Recognition of the Partnership among key audiences increases year-on-year
