Energy Monitors in Libraries
Following a successful pilot period of loaning energy monitors from Guildford main library in early 2009 (funded by Guildford Borough Council), The Surrey Climate Change Partnership (county and 11 boroughs and districts) rolled out the scheme to all Surrey libraries in October 2009. Surrey County Council (SCC) climate change team (Matt Beale-Collins) met with libraries management, who were happy to extend what was proving to be a very popular scheme. SCC provided funding for 200 monitors (price negotiated with Current Cost) and publicity and design. The scheme had reached 800 households by February 2010.
