2008 AGM Agenda

Elections to the Executive Committee

We are now seeking nominations to our Executive Committee. All of our member organisations are eligible to stand for election and may nominate anyone from within their organisation to be the Executive Committee representative. There are four places available on our Executive Committee this year and we strongly enourage all members, old and new, from all sectors to consider putting yourselves forward.

As you will be aware, Climate South East is very much run by partners, for partners. Our Executive Committee plays a vital role in steering the direction of the Partnership and monitoring progress against our strategy between our Annual General Meetings. We aim to have a wide range of partner organisations on the Executive Committee to reflect the diversity of the Partnership and to bring together a range of skills and experience. As an Executive Committee member you have the opportunity to:

* Help lead and develop a dynamic, diverse and growing network of organisations
* Develop a unique insight into climate change developments and work across the region (and beyond)
* Learn from others and contribute your skills and experience
* Lever in funding to deliver our ambitious strategy
* Demonstrate your commitment to deliver action on climate change
* Be a champion for Climate South East’s work

The Executive Committee meets six times a year. The Committee will select a Chair from amongst its members at its first meeting following the AGM, in October. Meetings are normally held on Thursdays in Guildford, although the dates, times, and location may be varied to accommodate Committee members’ needs.

If your organisation wishes to stand for election, please send confirmation to or by 9 September, together with a short paragraph saying a little bit about you/your organisation and your interest in joining the Executive Committee.

If you would like more information about the Executive Committee please do not hesitate to contact Heather or Kristen for a chat. We would be very happy to put you in touch with current Executive Committee Chair members to hear more about their experiences.

Elections will be held at our AGM on 16 September and results will be announced the same day.
