Greening Campaign Vacancy
The Greening Campaign is a not-for-profit organisation offering a structured programme to help communities to become more sustainable. The number of communities asking to run the campaign over the last year has increased rapidly and we are now happy to be able to offer an opportunity for full-time employment in the Hampshire area.
This is a wonderful opening for someone committed to the principles of sustainability and who has an understanding of the issues surrounding climate change. It will also help to have experience working with community groups or the voluntary sector, and a basic understanding of government structure. A flair and aptitude for motivating others is an essential quality, whilst being able to offer individuals and groups calm, confident support and encouragement in this pivotal role guiding communities through the structured programme to becoming more sustainable. The ability to travel to meetings in your own transport is essential. A mileage allowance is offered to reimburse expenses.
We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who has the ability and the drive to work alone and plan their own diary. Full training will be given and support is available at all times. Working with communities is extremely rewarding but requires a high level of flexibility, including evening and weekend work.
Initially we are offering a 3 month contract with a salary of up to £23,000 (per annum pro-rata) with the possibility of offering a full contract thereafter.
Essential Criteria:
-1 year relevant experience
-An understanding of climate change and sustainability issues
-An understanding of working with community groups and the voluntary sector
-A self starter able to manage your own workload
-The ability to work flexibly including evening and weekend work
-The ability to give presentations and speak to public meetings
-A high standard of proficiency in software packages such as Outlook, Excel, Word , Power Point and Internet Explorer
-The ability to travel to meetings and provide own reliable transport.
Desirable Criteria:
-Experience of working community groups and the voluntary sector
