Introducing the Energy Explorer
The Environment Centre and West Sussex local authorities are pleased to offer the use of the Energy Explorer, an exhibition vehicle which demonstrates practical home energy-saving measures, to partners in neighboring counties.
The onboard displays include:
- Cavity wall insulation
- Loft insulation
- Solid wall insulation
- Working sun tube
- Boiler & heating controls
- Hotwater cylinders
- Energy saving gadgets
- Double glazing
- Radiator efficiency
- Renewables including, solar thermal, solar PV and wind turbine (the PV and wind turbine are linked into a display system to show the power being generated).
The Environment Centre offers two fully qualified and experienced advisors able to promote energy efficiency, renewable technologies, eco-driving as well as water saving and waste reduction. They can answer specific questions, aid in the completion of Home Energy Checks and have an abundant supply of goodies and leaflets for people to take away.
If you would like to see the Energy Explorer in action it will be at the Surrey County Show on Monday 25th May, Avenue A, plot 323, Stoke Park Guildford, 9am to 6pm. Please come and say hello!

The Energy Explorer is owned by the West Sussex Local Authorties and has been managed by tEC for the past 7 years. The Environment Centre is a Charity and runs this service on a non-for-profit basis. If you are interested in hiring this service for your event the costs are detailed below.
1 day roadshow with two energy advisors, unlimited literature and freebies = £700.00
(our costs take into consideration fuel costs, time for travelling and setting up of the vehicle, with core event hours of 10am to 4pm)
